Vixen S3 (1971)

With bolt-on chassis, not bonded. Body has been removed from chassis,
chassis sand-blasted, repainted & wax injected & sprayed. It
has new springs, shocks, brakes, pads, nuts, bolts & fixings, copper
brake lines, flexible hoses, half-shaft uj's, track-rod ends, top ball
joints, GT6 uprights. Rebuilt running gear, with exception of the diff
which has a slight whine. The car has been off the road for some time,
and this may be why the diff is whining. I have driven it for about
200 miles since and the diff whine has eased off slightly, so may be
due to being laid up for a some time. Car has been recently MOT'd and
Taxed as Historic vehicle, tax-exempt.

The engine is a Ford 1600 cross-flow, which is sound, as is the gearbox.
The car has all original clocks, new carpets and some new trim, plus
the original. The black paintwork needs some attention. I have, as a
possible optional extra to the standard Vixen alloy wheels, a set of
1960s JA Pearce Centre Lock Mag Wheels, which can be seen on the car,
and suit it beautifully. They are off a 1960s Griffith 200, and are
in keeping with the car. These may be available by separate negotiation
only.
Overall, this Vixen is in exceptional condition, mechanically/structurally.
All the hard work has been done, and it just needs the trimming finishing
and the paintwork seeing to. I am selling the car due to a change in
circumstances. Vixens rarely come on the market these days, especially
with the early Griffiths reaching the roof price-wise. This car would
make an excellent Historic race car, for say, the HSCC race series.
